About My Classes + MeClasses There is always an excited, high-pitched line of happy chatter outside my classroom door where eager young Jedi students wait to boldly go where they have rarely been before and to take over and rock the digital art room. They are grades K-5, and come in all sizes, colors, voices and shapes, as their openly inquisitive minds propel them, body & soul, into the next digital arts adventure. In my Digital+Media Arts class we are equipped with Apple iMac Intel Core 2 Duo's and OSX, color printers & scanners, a few digital camera's w/tripods, and various software. I introduce young students to applications in the Adobe CS6 Master Collection...
Students explore stop-motion animation using dry erase, multi-plane, and/or 3D objects (props). They collaborate on storyboards and are empowered to use digital camera's and tripods, though, may also choose to use the iMac onboard iSite cameras. Our animation post production applications are Dragon Frame and iMovie. LightBot is a coding site we go to during the year where students enjoy coding games. |

Hello! My name is Ms Tiik Pollet and I have been engaging elementary school students in digital | media arts & music since 1999, in Washington, DC. That's a lot of years inspiring young smiles. They call me a TEACHER, though I like to think of myself as a Students Success Advocate. I have a BFA Photography from Corcoran College of Art + Design with a minor in digital media, though, as a child, my first active talents were in sports, dance, music, and art. I am proud to have been gifted a 10 year scholarship in dance in those early years. With that formative training I have developed possibly the strongest legs in the world! In being treated for a lumbar injury I once knocked a physical therapist down who requested I push them as hard as I humanly was able with my legs. Though I did warn them, they insisted. :) For many years I have been a working artist, frequently exhibiting my visual work along the east coast. As a life long singer.songwriter and musician, I have released 2 albums, and am working on a 3rd and 4th. Though I am a multi-instrumentalist, my main instrument is guitar and, I currently:
